Housebuilding and home-ownership are issues that I am invested in as a member of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee in Parliament. I believe that our property market is in dire need of reform. A key part of this reform would be to free up more land and look overseas to learn how other nations have tackled similar problems.
I will strongly support the building of more houses for families but also aim to stop the building of high-density multi-storey developments in Harrow and high rise flats.
Following the budget announcement, Bob asked the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government how many council homes the the Government expects to build and what safeguards there would be to ensure that these could be bought under the right to buy.
