Bob has been a strong advocate for the rights of renters and leaseholders during the cladding scandal. This has included ensuring that people are able to live in safe accommodation through the Fire Safety Bill, as well as campaigning to make sure that leaseholders do not have to pay for any remediation of unsafe cladding.

Bob continues to work extensively with colleagues to scrutinise the Fire Safety Bill, highlighting issues in Parliament on issues such as testing regimes for different types of cladding and calling for greater clarification on who is responsible for authorising safety procedures. He is also pleased that the Government has announced further funding to cover cladding remediation and will continue to ensure that this covers all the remediation leaseholders require.
