Every year I conduct a survey of residents so that I can act on your concerns, champion what matters to you and deliver what you want to see.
Since being re-elected as your Member of Parliament, I have been busy delivering on the priorities you told me mattered: crime, schools, housing, the NHS, business and transport.
Tackling crime was the number one issue raised during the election.
I have already met our Borough Superintendent to find out what the police are doing to keep us all safe. We are fortunate to live in one of the safest Boroughs in London but still crime is too high. I have been working as a close partner with the police and promoting the work they do every day.
In Harrow, we had a Conservative landslide, returning a full-slate of Conservative councillors in Harrow East and 41 / 55 councillors across Harrow. This means we can now continue the good work to improve our borough; keeping the one-hour free parking, investing £56 million to resurface roads, pavements and pothole, increased enforcement of fly-tipping, making it harder to convert family houses into HMOs, defend the green belt and protect the vulnerable with Winter Fuel money and the Freedom Pass.
In Brent, we more than doubled the number of Conservative councillors from 5 to 11, whilst Labour collapsed from 42 to just 26. This means Labour lost their majority on the council and will now have to start working with others to improve Brent for us all. Having been a Brent councillor for 24 years and Leader of the Council, I know how important it is that the council delivers high quality, value for money services for residents.
