As Vice-Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for British Jains, Bob explains why it is vitally important British Jains complete their Census, especially question 16 on religion. To ensure local and national governments know how many Jains there are living in the UK, Bob urges British Jains to make sure they tick ‘Other’ and write in ‘Jain’ on question 16.
As well as giving a more accurate picture of the population, this will also mean bodies such as APPG on Jainism can lobby government to ensure Jainism is properly recognised and supported though public services.
