Speaking to Parliament via video call, Bob stressed to the Minister for Equalities that a large-scale consultation of the community has taken place. MPs received a written ministerial statement making it clear that this protected characteristic is going to be removed from the Equality Act. Bob urged the Minister to bring forward, without delay, proposals to remove this unnecessary, ill-thought-out and divisive move in the Equality Act 2010.
